Telegram Media Buying for a C-Suite Psychologist
Challenge
A psychologist specializing in executive coaching needed to reach decision‑makers - not the general public. His services target CEOs, Sales Directors, and Tech Leads dealing with burnout, decision paralysis, and isolation at the top.
The challenge: how to find Telegram channels where these people actually spend their time, without wasting budget on bot‑filled channels.
The typical "Psychology" category was useless. His audience doesn't follow psychology channels. They follow business, leadership, and management content.
Solution
We created 4 detailed audience avatars:
- John - Director of Department (35‑45)
- Elsa - Head of Function (32‑42)
- Eric - Head of Sales (30‑40)
- Christian - Lead Software Architect / Tech Lead (30‑45)
Instead of using generic categories, we used keyword search in Telemetrio: "management," "head of sales," "CEO notes." We found 2 live anchor channels and used the "Similar Channels" feature to expand the funnel.
We then vetted each channel using 3 criteria:
1. Engagement Rate (ER) - views vs. subscribers
2. Subscriber growth graph - smooth growth vs. bot spikes
3. Traffic sources - where the channel had advertised before
Out of every 10 channels, only 1 made the cut. 90% were rejected due to fake bot traffic.
After 10 hours of meticulous manual work, we delivered 50 perfect, live traffic sources.
We reached out to all 50 channel admins. Out of these, 33 were open to advertising collaborations. We compared pricing and reach across all channels and identified the 10 most cost‑effective options.
We negotiated a bulk discount with these admins for a long‑term placement in a 72/3 format - 72 hours in the feed and 3 hours pinned at the top.
Results
- 336 subscribers attracted at just $3.5 per subscriber - an excellent result for this high‑net‑worth audience
- Within the first month, 11 out of 336 subscribers booked paid sessions (3.27% conversion rate)
- Each session costs ~$100, with clients typically attending 4 sessions per month (~$400 per client)
- The $1,500 ad spend was recouped within the first week of the campaign
- Estimated monthly revenue from this campaign: $4,400+ (11 clients × $400)
